Welcome to the Real World!

I remember how the 16 year old used to ask questions, how her eyes sparkled when she saw opportunities, how fearless she was to handle any obstacle coming her way and how beautifully she presented her flaws in front of the world. She was vulnerable, more like a warrior I would say. She believed in painting her white canvas with all bright colours, she wanted to be a sunflower in the world full of roses. She wanted to turn the world with her kindness and tenderness. She wanted to smile her heart out when the world was throwing thorns her way. She is today standing in front of the 20 year old woman and asking her to fix her crown. She wipes down her tears and asks her to never lose her kindness and still continue to be the unique sunflower in the world of cactuses now. The 20 year old replies to the sixteen year: Welcome to the real world, it sucks but you are going to love it.

The sixteen year old girl is still alive in all of us, but the fact is that we don't meet her timely. The real world should never let you forget what expectations the little girl had from you. You are representing her, she believed in you, she is waiting for you to shine. Remember, how we all believed that the adult world would bring freedom, stability and acceptance to our life? But now that we saw how cruel the real world can get sometimes, we all wish to slide into the life of our sixteen year olds.

But, as rightly said pain and struggle are inevitable parts of our life. We have to wake up everyday and do what we are supposed to do, in the hope of sunshine for a room full of darkness. Do not let this darkness erase your capability to shine. Prepare your journal, write down the things you would want to achieve everyday and remember to appreciate yourself on little wins. Start by making your bed in the morning, get that work done, let that toxic person go. Remember small wins!!

Another important key: Stop procrastinating, get it done, the more you linger it on the more efforts it will require at the end. It is your journey, win it at your pace, appreciate it and grasp as much possible from it. It is always about the climb at the end.....

Remember to take breaks, enjoy the success you have achieved: Take your timely breaks, appreciate the struggle and consistency you have shown to the process. Pat yourself on the back and say, I am proud of you, I know how hard of you worked to be here.

So, start today, inculcate these small changes in your life and let the magic happen...
